La la Vazquez is covering the April 2010 Issue of Latina Magazine. In the upcoming issue she talks bout her past career in radio as well as her relationship with fiancé NBA player Carmelo Anthony….

She also makes it clear that she is no trophy wife and can hold her own when it comes to her relationship with Carmelo.

“I don’t think people understand how hard I’ve worked to achieve the things I have,” she tells Latina.

Lala on her career in radio:

“I would get off the air at 6, take a shower, and go straight to school,” recalls La La of her early radio days as a 16-year-old on-air personality during the overnight shift in Atlanta. When Ludacris got his own show, La La had to hold her own as his sidekick. “They didn’t want me there,” she told Latina. “We joke about it now. But I had to fight to hang on to my spot.”

Lala on what others have said about her and Carmelo’s relationship:

Even with all that I’ve accomplished on my own, I know the story out there about me: ‘Carmelo ain’t gonna marry her. She got that ring but now he’s making her wait. He don’t really love her…’ For once…I’d like to tell the story as it is. Not as it’s told.”

Carmelo on Why It Took So Long For Them To Set A Wedding Date & Get Married

“I wasn’t making her wait. If anything, I was waiting for her to slow down. She was doing her own thing, handling her business and we were happy. When it was time to take it to the next step we did. Period.”

Lala on how Carmelo proposed:

“It was Christmas Eve. We were in bed. And he said, La La, I love you. I want to be with you forever. Will you marry me?”

Shaunie O’Neal the ex wife of NBA star Shaq is covering the new issue of Essence Magazine looking absolutely gorgeous.

In the issue she talks about her kids, her failed marriage to Shaq, and her upcoming reality show “Basketball Wives” premiering Sunday April 11th on VH1.

The show will follow the lives of basketball wives, girlfriends, and ex girlfriends such as Royce Reed (Dwight Howards baby mama), Mesha O’Neal (Jermaine O Neal), Faith Rain (Udonis Haslem), Evelyn Walker (Antoine Walker), and special appearances by Shaunie.

Shaq was traded to the Miami Heat, “Miami is a great city. It just wasn’t a great city for our marriage. I know they say L.A. has its groupies, but Miami has a different mentality. Even going to the games, the whole environment is so different. Girls are practically sitting in their bra and panties in the arena. When you’re trying to keep your husband, that’s a lot to take. It was a whole new lifestyle I wasn’t ready for. Apparently we didn’t have a strong enough foundation for Shaq to withstand that type of temptation.”

Shaunie on finally confronting Shaq about the infidelity rumors:

“He would deny it sometimes, and other times he would ask, ‘You got pictures? Video? If not, don’t come at me because you have no proof.’ “He’d say, ‘Okay, you’re mad. Now what? You’re not going anywhere.’

Shaunie on being accused of cheating on Shaq with her personal trainer:

“I worked out at home- with my trainer, my sister, her husband and my girlfriend. I was a good girl. I wouldn’t even entertain a man flirting with me. I was that conservative. But when those rumors came out, I felt I was so small and Shaq was so big that it didn’t matter what I said; nobody was going to believe me. All I was thinking was, How could this happen to me? I had no idea how I was going to pick up the pieces. I was just done.”

Shaunie on the state of her relationship with Shaq today:

“We are becoming friends, and it’s nice because it’s something we really lacked in our marriage. I enjoy being able to talk openly to him, and I think we both learned a lot from each other during this time.”

Lil Wayne began serving his jail time in Rikers Island Prison this past Monday and prison officials spoke with People Magazine to discuss Waynes life behind bars.

According to People.com

The platinum-selling artist (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.), who began his yearlong jail sentence for gun possession on Monday, is facing a lot of new circumstances these days.

The rapper is living among the general population of inmates at the Eric. M. Taylor Center (the facility for sentenced males at Riker’s Island), but he is also afforded a low level of protective custody, due to his public profile.

“Inmate Carter is in a category of housing that we call ‘general population/escort,’ ” a New York City Department of Corrections official tells PEOPLE. That means when he leaves the housing area (his cell or the day room), he will have a captain escorting him at all times.

On an hourly basis, the rapper can decide if he wants to be locked in his cell or locked out of it – for security reasons, inmates are not allowed to freely move between their cell and the common areas.

What else can Lil’ Wayne expect from the year ahead? The official shared the following details:

The Day Room
In this common area, which he shares with 19 other inmates, Lil Wayne can watch television, play cards, read the paper or just socialize. Since the day room is within the housing area, he does not have an escort here.

The Meals
Breakfast is served at 4:30 a.m. Since a number of inmates will be going to court on any given day, the morning starts early for Riker’s residents. Lunch is served at 11, dinner at 4:30 p.m.

The Clothes
Lil Wayne will wear the standard institutional clothing: Green work shirt and pants, slip-on style sneakers.

The Cell
His six-by-ten space features a steel cot connected to the wall, a mattress, a sheet, a blanket and a pillow. There’s a sink and toilet in the cell as well, plus his personal property which includes the standard cup, razor, toothbrush and soap assigned to each inmate.

Outside the Housing Area
With his escort, Lil Wayne can leave the housing area for attorney visits, regular visits (he’ll get two per week with up to three visitors), religious services or jail-offered programs such as one that helps inmates transition back into society. While some inmates have work assignments in and around the jail, he will not because, “then you’d have to send somebody off to escort him every day,” says the official.

Recreation
One hour per day. The rapper’s facility features outdoor basketball courts.

The Commissary
He can buy snacks and toiletries from his Commissary account, which friends and family can contribute to online. Reports that he’ll have an ipod are untrue, though he can purchase a battery-operated AM/FM radio and earphones to listen to music.

On how Kenzo is different from the girls:

Two very girly girls. He wants to crash things and bash things. Boys are definitely rougher and more aggressive.

We just aired a baby special with little Kenzo. And the regular season stars March 21. Obviously, life with the new baby is totally crazy. My girls[Ming Lee and Aoki Lee] are 10 and 7.. so having a 9-month-old makes it a little different
