Mary J Blige is one of the realest singers in the game hands down. She set the tone for the Keyshia Cole, Monica, Alicia Keys and every other R&B singer that came up after her. Mary is a true example that no matter where you come from or what you’re going through you can make it in life. Her story is so amazing to me, from the time she started in the music industry up until now she has come a long way.
In the issue of Vegas Magazine Mary talks about how Aaliyah’s dealth changed her life, and how she thinks the reality show American Idol is not giving contestants a real chance to become a star. “Honestly, it’s not giving most of them a real chance to become an artist for the rest of their lives,” she explains. “They are on national TV every night. They have automatic fame. All of the greatest artists had to struggle for their success.”
