Ice Cube Reveals Why Easy E Son Didn’t Get To Play His Father In The Upcoming NWA Movie

It seems like every since it was announced that Dr Dre and Ice Cube would be producing an NWA bio pic titled “Straight Outta Compton” it’s been nothing but controversy surrounding the film.

After the first photo of the cast was revealed rumors started swirling about Eazy E’s son Eric Wright Jr being upset about not being able to play the role of his father in the upcoming bio-pic.

I also heard that he was angry because Ice Cube’s son was cast to play the role of his father while actor Jason Mitchell was cast to play Eazy E.

In a recent interview Ice Cube opened up and revealed why Eric Wright Jr. was not cast to play the role of his father the last Eazy E:

“He’s an up-and-coming actor trying to do it, but we needed somebody who was a little more polished to play Eazy, because he goes through a lot in his life,” Cube explained. “He goes from selling dope in Compton to fighting for his life in a hospital bed. So we needed to find an actor with a lot of range. And we just couldn’t use just anybody. We gave him a shot, and it just didn’t work out.”

At first I thought that it was unfair however if Eazy E’s son was giving the opportunity to audition but couldn’t deliver on playing the part then I understand why they decided to go with someone else.
