Shaunie O’Neal Speaks Out Regarding The Season Finale Of Basketball Wives LA

I haven’t seen all the episodes of Basketball Wives LA this season, however I did see the finale last night and it was messy and disrespectful on so many levels.

During an altercation between cast mates Sundy Carter and Brandi Maxiell things got out of hand and went too far during their heated argument. Brandi accused Sunday of being a hoe and she snapped back telling Brandi to go try and make some babies.

For those who don’t know Brandi was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 24 and although she’s a survivor it has impact her ability to have children. The Basketball wife of NBA player Jason Maxiell gave birth to their first child back in 2011 via IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) however she has been struggling to have baby #2.

After the season finale aired Executive Producer Shaunie O’Neal spoke out via twitter stating her disappointment in Sundy’s comments. She also apologized to Brandi and the people who are dealing with or have survived cancer:

For the record, as the executive producer of Basketball Wives, I do not condone the extremely mean behavior that took place on tonights episode . The complete disregard and disrespect shown toward people suffering from cancer has made me sick to my stomach and I am extremely upset and disappointed at what I have seen. The five minutes of fame isn’t worth it. My heart goes out to @brandimaxwell and the countless cancer patients and survivors who witnessed this reckless behavior.
