J Cole recently released the video for his single “Crooked Smile” featuring TLC. And instead of making the video about his crooked smile the Roc Nation rapper decided to pay tribute to 7 year old Aiyana Stanley-Jones, from Detroit who was shot and killed by a Detroit police office back in 2010.
In the video J Cole plays the role of a drug dealer who is being watched by the DEA. Later in the video things take a turn for the worst as the DEA raids his home and J Cole is arrested and during the raid his younger sister is accidentally shot by a police officer.
The video was directed by Sheldon Candis and is the follow-up to his “Power Trip” video featuring R&B singer Miguel.
