According to TMZ, rapper Lil Wayne is still not doing too good and remains in the intensive care unit at Cedar-Sinai medical center in LA. Wayne has been in the hospital for 6 days and was admitted after he had a seizure stemming from an alleged drug over dose.
Wayne’s condition has not improved enough to be moved out of the ICU … and he continues to be monitored very closely by staff at L.A..’s Cedars-Sinai hospital.We know Wayne has been surrounded by friends and family since he was admitted to the ICU this past Wednesday … and we’re told the mood around Wayne’s bedside has been very serious.
TMZ broke the story … Wayne’s stomach was pumped at least 3 times after doctors suspected he had overdosed on the prescription drug codeine … the main ingredient in “sizzurp.”
Wayne has struggled with codeine for years and just a few months ago suggested he had quit using the powerful painkiller.
Meanwhile, this past weekend in Austin, Texas, Usher performed a surprise show at SXSW, and during his performance he decided to send some love and positive energy to Lil Wayne during his time of need…
One of my fellow artists, good friend, Lil Wayne is going through a real hard time right now. And I just want to say that I have a positive attitude about his fate, and I know there’s a lot of positive energy out there right now. It’s all about positive energy can we give it up for him one time?
