She recently called in to People and wanted to set the record straight. Ashanti admitted that she had her heart broken due to a man cheating, and even admitted to some of the lyrics hitting close to home for her.
“Of course I’ve snooped! Before [sidekicks] came out, I was snooping through regular cell phones, Skytel, everything! Whatever he had out, I was all in it!
But the singer says this song is not about her relationship with rapstar Nelly. Ashanti says she actually wrote this record last summer and its just about real life. She claims she put this record out for every woman who has gone through infidelity. When asked about the current status of her relationship with Nelly? Ashanti says ,”We’re really, really good friends.
“If you say so I believe you, I actually really like the single it reminds me of situtation I was in so I can relate 100 percent.
